Stephen Colbert and the boys of South Park have been giving raspberries to both Paramount and the President. It’s a sad state of affairs when a corporate merger apparently is sold for blood money by sacrificing The Late Show and CBS News’ reputation.
I was over the moon happy to see Colbert taunt the president earlier in the week with skits and direct F.U.’s. And the South Park episode on the Paramount-owned network that just dropped showing Trump in bed with Satan is one for the ages!
The episode came as creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone inked a $1.5 billion dollar contract with Paramount. They launched the 27th season with an episode of anger squarely directed at their network’s decision to acquiesce. The Guardian wrote a great piece about it and wondered whether it will invite another lawsuit.

In a Variety op-ed piece, Democratic senator Elizabeth Warren asked: “Are we sure that this wasn’t part of a wink-wink deal between the president and a giant corporation that needed something from his administration?”
Nonetheless, the push back from employees, lawmakers and voters will continue to keep this in the headlines much to the chagrin of the administration.
Maybe CBS should stand for the capitulation broadcasting network?
