The Mountaintop
Dezart Performs presents The Mountaintop, the 2010 Olivier Award Winner for Best Play by Katori Hall, from March 4–13 at the Pearl McManus Theater. A re-imagined depiction of Martin Luther King Jr.’s last night on earth, the play is set entirely in Room 306 of the Lorraine Motel on the eve of his assassination in 1968. After delivering his famous “I’ve been to the mountaintop” speech, King goes to the Lorraine Motel to rest. His world is spun on his axis when he meets Camae, a young, feisty and foul-mouthed maid, who delivers his room service. Get tickets
Rainbow Challenge 2022
Love Golf? The Stonewall Golfers 21st Annual Rainbow Challenge is back and happening at the Classic Club on Sunday and Monday, March 6 & 7. The Classic Club was recently renovated to make it more player friendly: New forward tees, a softening of sand traps with some removed and the remaining filled with new sand; and some out-of-bound brush replaced with grass. The two-day tournament also features a Taco Party on Saturday night and Awards Luncheon on Monday. More info
Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival
Friends of the Desert Mountains’ annual Coachella Valley Wildflower Festival celebrating springtime returns to Palm Desert’s Civic Center Park with the promise of fresh air and family fun on Saturday, March 5 from 9 am–4 pm featuring a kids zone, climbing wall, exciting raffles and live music, beer and wine garden, the 30 by 30 by 30 challenge, and more.
