TUE–THU: The Purple Room’s Weeknight Entertainment
Michael Holmes’ Purple Room‘s 12th season is underway! Weeknights at The Purple Room are a dazzling blend of music, martinis, and mid-century magic. Enjoy all-night happy hour at the bar Tuesday–Thursday, with Grammy-nominated Chris Bennett (Tue & Thu) and piano prodigy Kevin Tokarz (Wed) setting the tone from 4–6 pm. Then settle in for more live entertainment from 6:30–9:30 pm—no ticket required, just reservations. The 1st Wednesday Art Walk @ Backstreet Art District invites exploration of a unique art community. FRI: Blue Zones Project Food-A-Thon
The 1st Annual Palm Springs Food-A-Thon, presented by Blue Zones Project, takes place Friday, September 5 from 9 am–6 pm at the Community Food Bank at The LGBTQ Community Center of the Desert. With a goal of collecting 2,500 pounds of shelf-stable food, the event supports over 350 individuals and families who rely on The Center’s daily services. Attendees are encouraged to become Food-A-Thon Ambassadors by gathering donations from friends, neighbors, and coworkers. Items like pasta, peanut butter, cereal, beans, and rice are especially needed. Every contribution helps nourish the community. More info
