Now we are squarely in the holiday season! The big box stores put up Christmas decorations well before Halloween on Arenas. And that’s just too early, IMHO.

Did this super-early trend start around the time A Nightmare Before Christmas was popular? Maybe the world was confused by the Halloween and Christmas imagery mixed together? In reality, it was just corporate America trying to squeeze out more profit.

Now, we’ve been chastised for playing holiday music on KMEE 103.1 MeTV FM so early this year. But it was just two weeks before Black Friday. I hope you’re enjoying the nostalgia and comfort that those tunes bring between now and Christmas Day.

Our top event for the week in #ILoveGayPalmSprings is WildLights at the Living Desert Zoo and Gardens. It’s such a treat to observe the wild lights, wild animals (and sometimes even wilder kids at play) while strolling through on of our valley’s treasures.

Enjoy your Thanksgiving holiday. Many locals have truncated celebrations due to so many being employed in hospitality and food service. Our stocking caps off to them as they help make your time in Greater Palm Springs special.

And here’s a reel from “Dining with the Davids” and KGAY’s John Taylor that may bring a tear to your eye, and certainly will make you thankful for all you have.

For the latest, follow our socials @GayDesertGuide and @KGAY1065 and listen to KGAY Palm Springs wherever you may reside! P.S. Our KMEE 103.1 MeTV FM has gone “all holiday music”! Tune in!
