The operation aims to enhance public safety by removing suspected impaired drivers from the road. The department reminds the community that impairment can stem from alcohol, certain medications, over‑the‑counter drugs, or marijuana. A first‑time DUI can cost approximately $13,500 in fines and penalties and result in a suspended license.
