Local Author Ray Smythe advertises his books on personal loss and grief on KGAY and KMEE. When I first met him, his unbridled enthusiasm for life was ever-present.
He comes in regularly to record his commercials and always leaves in his wake a sense of joy and purpose. In between, he’s in touch with an uplifting email or a personal note with his quote cards.
He wrote recently that he almost stopped mailing them about a year ago, but just couldn’t! I’m glad he continued to do so. The loss of his life partner, Steve, has turned into a gift that brings hope and consolation to many. And his quotes? Well they are just fun to read and gives me pause as I contemplate. Here’s a couple to start your day and the first week of Pride Month:
Dwelling on negative thoughts as like fertilizing weeds.
Earl Nightingale
Attitude is a choice. Happiness is a choice. Optimism is a choice. Kindness is a choice. Giving is a choice. Respect is a choice. Whatever choice you make makes you. Choose wisely.
