KGAY will be broadcasting live from 5:30 to 7 pm and “Elton” takes the stage at 7 pm. Dazzling outfits, stunning vocals, and a spectacular backing band complete this phenomenal reproduction that brings the audience on an adventure of both sight and sound! The Desert Symphony presents The British Invasion Years on Thursday, April 7 at 8 pm at the McCallum Theatre. You’ll hear chart toppers by iconic British groups such as The Rolling Stones, The Zombies, Dave Clark Five, and Herman’s Hermits. Desert Arc’s 12th Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser is on Thursday, April 7 at Eagle Falls Golf Course at Fantasy Springs Resort. The event will feature a BBQ Luncheon at 11 am, followed by a 12:30 pm Shotgun Scramble, and will conclude with an amazing Golf Awards Banquet Dinner at 5 pm by renowned Chef Freddy. Proceeds support Desert Arc’s comprehensive services for over 700 adults, ages 18 and older, with intellectual and developmental disabilities within the Coachella Valley, the Morongo Basin, and outlying desert communities. Offerings from The Center: Beginning Spanish and Creative Writing
These 8-week in-person courses both begin this week at The LGBTQ Center of the Desert: First, it’s Beginning Spanish, starting Tuesday April 5 from 1–3 pm, and continuing Tuesdays and Thursdays. Bob Stark will work in the classroom to develop the four essential skills of learning Spanish: understanding, speaking, reading, and writing, all geared toward absolute beginners [Learn more]. On Wednesdays, beginning Wednesday, April 6 from 10 am–12 pm, It’s All Write is a dynamic writing group open to anyone who wishes to explore their creativity through the written word.
