Pride Under the Pines
Pride Under the Pines, the Idyllwild Pride Festival, is this Saturday, October 1 at the Rustic Theatre in Idyllwild-Pine Cove. Come for a great day filled with fun, laughter, celebration and love with food, bars and entertainment hosted by Sabryna Williams, featuring Transgender singer/songwriter Alexa Abraxas and Thea Austin from Snap! KGAY’s DJ Galaxy will be providing the beats. You can purchase general admission or VIP tickets for the festival, or the festival plus a screening of The Birdcage, and a bus-ful of early ticket buyers get to catch a ride on the now sold-out KGAY Party Bus with John Taylor, taking off from Palm Springs, taking you to Idyllwild and back! The “sensory extravaganza” of Beyond Van Gogh: The Immersive Experience opens this weekend at The Forum at Empire Polo Club, running from September 30–November 27. The tour of this show has sold over 3 million tickets globally making it one of the most popular current traveling exhibitions. Bros Opening Weekend
The groundbreaking romantic comedy Bros opens in wide release on Friday, September 30. This is the first time a major studio has backed a story written by a gay man, telling a gay love story with an all-LGBTQ principal cast. The premise: An “out and proud but also scared and self-doubting” New York museum curator (Billy Eichner) is hired to write a romantic comedy about a gay couple. Along the way, he meets—and eventually falls in love with—a “macho” lawyer (Luke McFarlane). “Score” Help for your LGBTQ+ Business
“SCORE” Coachella Valley, Gay Desert Guide and KGAY present: “SCORE” Help for Your LGBTQ+ Business and DBA Mixer on Monday, October 3 from 4–7 pm. Learn about how small business owners and entrepreneurs can sign up to get access to free SCORE mentoring and other resources. KGAY/Gay Desert Guide’s Brad Fuhr will share insights about local and national LGBTQ consumer trends. He’ll share data from Community Marketing and Insights, the largest annual LGBTQ community survey, and examine social media trends as well. Following the presentation, there’s a DBA business networking mixer providing a unique opportunity to network with small business professionals and organizations from the Coachella Valley.
