Just prior to leaving for Amsterdam Pride and the Brandg Vacations river cruise, I made a major life change. After 11 years at my condo in south Palm Springs, I’m going to be spending a year “Living Out”.
The 55+ community that houses Alice B. restaurant will be my home once I return to Palm Springs. I’ve been working with Co-founder and CEO Loren Ostrow and his team on the idea of embedding myself in the community to see what it’s all about.
We’re promoting this in conjunction with KGAY and Gay Desert Guide, as this is a marketing program to help Living Out get to full occupancy. In my first days visiting with the residents and the staff, I’ve discovered that I know quite a few people there.
Over the next year, we’ll be sharing their stories via our KGAY YouTube channel, on GayDesertGuide.LGBT and on social media. You’ll also hear me endorsing Living Out. This was not an easy decision: I’m changing up my life to be here, but I think it’s worthy of sharing with our readers and listeners.
As soon as I return from my trip, I’ll get settled in and provide bi-monthly updates. I hope you’ll follow my journey. Who knows where it will lead…
